Ghanaians have taken much interest in the goings
on in a Norwegian court involving officials from Scancem, a company that
previously owned Ghanacem, the cement producing company with factories in towns
such as Tema. Scancem officials are said to have paid millions of dollars to
Ghanian officials to ensure that they would retain the monopoly of cement
production in the country. The money
allegedly went to former presidential advisor in the Rawlings regime, PV Obeng.
